Carmen Maret and Andrew Bergeron of the Grand Rapids based husband and wife duo, Folias, present a CD with all newly composed pieces inspired by Lake Superior. The compositions on the CD explore possibilities for rhythm, timbre, and form with the flute and guitar, a chamber format that that duo has developed over the past five years.

Waterway is Carmen Maret and Andrew Bergeron’s third CD since they combined in 2003. This is also their first CD to contain all original compositions. The works on the CD were written over a two year period beginning with the duo’s music written for an international tour around Lake Superior in 2006 that served as a fundraiser for the Great Lakes Division of the Nature Conservancy and continued with the duo’s appointment as Artists-in-Residence on Isle Royale National Park during the summer of 2007.
